Vinaigrettes are a lighter alternative to creamy salad dressings and can be easily customized once you know the basics! One great way to customize a dressing is to mix fruit, giving a sweet lift to your greens. Being that it’s still summer and strawberries are in season, we’ve created a delicious strawberry vinaigrette recipe to drizzle over a spinach strawberry salad!

What is a vinaigrette?

A vinaigrette is a mixture of an oil base with an acid, most commonly a vinegar, then customized with a sweetener, salt and pepper. You can use it for salads as a marinade. Vinaigrettes are typically low in calories which make it a great to add flavor but maintain a healthy diet.

 

How to Make Vinaigrette?

You can tailor your dressing for the season or make a basic one to use all year round. It’s really up to you! The quick list of ingredients needed to make a simple vinaigrette is this:

Olive Oil
Vinegar (your choice)
Natural Sweetener (honey or agave)
Salt & Pepper
Dijon Mustard

 

Strawberry Vinaigrette Recipe

This recipe yields about 4 servings so you can store it in a sealed container and keep up to 7 days.

· 3 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil
· 1 Tbsp balsamic vinegar
· 2 Tbsp Torani Strawberry Puree Blend
· 1 Tbsp honey
· Salt and Pepper to taste

Directions:

1. Add all ingredients into a bowl and whisk until blended.


That’s it! Pour over a bed of spinach, almond slices, feta cheese, and sliced strawberries. A perfect summer salad.
