Getting sick may be unavoidable but the duration and the level of symptoms can be reduced with a healthy diet. A daily dose of natural immunity boosting nutrients found in fruits and vegetables is the key to fighting off the cold or flu. If you don’t normally consume the daily recommended amounts, these simple recipes make it easier to fit in your fruits and veggies. From teas to smoothies, we have an amazing list of good-for-you indulgences.

 

Immunity Boosting Recipes

#1 Golden Green Tea
Inspired by ginger shots, this ginger lemon green tea offers a cocktail of benefits. This immunity boosting recipe contains green tea, ginger root, lemon, turmeric, and cayenne pepper – all offer many vitamins and minerals.
Green tea contains antioxidants, a substance shown to have many health benefits. Ginger has long been used in natural folk medicine for use to treat inflammation, muscle pain, nausea, and more! This powerful plant is loaded with advantages for your body. Lemons are a good source of Vitamin C, a vitamin that works directly with your immune system. Another natural tool against inflammation is turmeric; this spice is often found in South Asian cuisine. Combined with these other ingredients, cayenne pepper gives an added source of anti-inflammatory properties.

Drink this tea daily for natural immune system support.


Ingredients:
• 16 oz Water
• 3 oz Tea Zone Green Tea Leaves
• 1 Lemon
• 1 chunk Fresh Ginger root
• 1 tsp Turmeric powder
• ½ tsp Cayenne pepper

Directions:
1. Peel the ginger root and chop it into thin slices.
2. Cut lemon in half. Slice one half of the lemon.
3. In a saucepan, add in water, tea leaves, ginger, and lemon slices.
4. Bring to a boil then drop the heat to a simmer for 8-10 minutes (depending on preferred tea strength).
5. Turn off heat then strain out tea leaves, ginger, and lemon slices.
6. Stir in turmeric powder and cayenne pepper.
7. Serve with fresh squeezed lemon from the remaining lemon half.



#2 ABC Crusher
The ABC in ABC Crusher stands for Vitamin A, Beta carotene, and Vitamin C. This simple fresh juice recipe is chock full of vitamins and minerals to aid and strengthen your immune system. Essential nutrients found in fruits and vegetables are best consumed in their raw form versus pill or powder supplements. That is why we recommend using freshly juiced oranges and carrots if possible.
Some people may be hesitant to try carrot juice, which has a strong carrot taste. To cover the taste of vegetables, and to add some fun, add a scoop of assorted yogo jelly! This drink is both enjoyable and healthy for you so grab a glass and crush your goals!

Ingredients:
• 1 cup Orange juice
• ½ cup Carrot juice
• ½ cup fresh Spinach
Optional: 1 scoop Tea Zone Lychee Coconut Jelly

Directions:
1. In a blender, add orange juice, carrot juice, and spinach. Blend until spinach is well blended.
2. Put 1 scoop of lychee jelly in a tall serving glass, ice, then pour juice over.



#3 Very Berry Milk Tea
For the daily tea consumer, you’re already reaping the antioxidant benefits of black tea. Add additional antioxidant foods like blueberries for an extra healthy boost in your diet. This very berry milk tea recipe is a fun twist to a traditional milk tea and you can even add tapioca pearls or crystal boba too!
This preparation uses non dairy creamer, but you can swap for milk if you prefer.


Ingredients:
• 1 cup Tea Zone Brewed Black Tea
• 3 Lollicup scoops Tea Zone Non Dairy Creamer
• 1 tbs Turbinado sugar
• 1 tbs Dark brown sugar
• 1 oz hot water
• 1 oz cold water
• 1 cup Blueberries

Directions:
1. In a blender, add cold water and blueberries. Blend until blueberries are well blended.
2. In a separate cup, combine non dairy creamer, turbinado sugar, dark brown sugar, and hot water. Stir to dilute all the ingredients.
3. Add ice to a serving glass then pour in black tea and non dairy creamer mixture.
4. Place a strainer over the serving glass then pour blueberries over to strain out any pieces.
5. Stir thoroughly. Enjoy!

 

#4 Antibiotic Acai Bowl
Acai bowls are a popular antioxidant-rich breakfast that uses real fruits to make a sweet delicious treat! Start your day right with a customizable bowl of acai. The acai bowl recipe below suggests granola, blueberries, banana, and chia seeds as toppings but you can top with any type of fresh fruit, seeds, or grains. Try a different combination each time for a unique breakfast experience every morning!
Because acai bowls are meant to be eaten with a spoon, you need to make it thick. To achieve a thick consistency, make sure the strawberries and bananas are frozen. Toppings do not need to be frozen.

Ingredients:
• 2 packs Frozen Acai
• ½ cup Milk
• ½ Banana, frozen
• ½ cup Strawberries, frozen
• ½ cup Granola
• 1 handful fresh Blueberries
• ½ fresh Banana
• 1 tbs Chia seeds

Directions:
1. Combine acai, milk, frozen banana and strawberries into a blender. Blend until smooth; if you have difficulty blending, add more milk.
2. Pour into a bowl and top with fresh blueberries, bananas, granola and chia seeds.

 

#5 ProB Fruit Smoothie
Not all bacteria are bad. In fact, it’s important that you have tons of good bacteria, also known as probiotics, in your system to promote good health. Probiotics are found in products such as yogurt and kefir. You can always eat a cup of yogurt or you can add it into any smoothie to reap the nutritional benefits of other fruits in the same sip.
This probiotic fruit smoothie may have a mild sweetness so we recommend adding a heaping scoop of banana powder for that extra creaminess and sweet banana flavor. Enjoy!


Ingredients:
• ½ cup Milk
• 1/3 cup Plain Greek yogurt
• ½ cup Strawberries, frozen
• 1 Banana, frozen
• 3 oz Tea Zone Banana Powder

Directions:
1. Together in a blender add all the ingredients. Blend until smooth.
2. Pour into a serving glass.

 

#6 Lemon Honey Water
This recipe is the most basic but is a great start to your day. All you need is lemon, honey, and water. Honey has long been known to boast many health benefits, as well as lemon water. Additionally, Studies have shown that drinking a glass of water first thing after waking up can just start your metabolism.

Add this drink to your morning routine for improved digestion and metabolism.


Ingredients:
• 1 cup Hot water
• Juice from 1/3 lemon
• 1 tbs Raw honey

Directions:
1. Stir in honey into hot water until it dilutes.
2. Squeeze in the lemon juice, but avoid seeds. Stir again.

 

Health and wellness are more important than ever, which is why you need to consume a well-balanced diet. Incorporate one or two of these recipes into your day to help you reach 5 – 7 servings of fruits and vegetables.
