3 Recipes Using Hot Cocoa Powder

Hot Cocoa Pudding

Take your chocolate pudding recipe to the next level! Use hot cocoa powder to create a cool dessert. 

Ingredients:

• 3  tbsp cornstarch
• ½ cup sugar
• ½ tsp salt
• 3  oz Ghirardelli Premium Double Chocolate Hot Cocoa
• 3  cups milk
• 4  egg yolks
• ½ cup cup unsalted butter, cold & cubed
• 1  tsp vanilla
• 4.25 oz chocolate 

Directions:

1. Whisk together sugar, cornstarch, salt, hot cocoa powder, milk, and egg yolks in a large saucepan over medium-high heat. 
2. Keep whisking for 10-15 mins until it becomes thick and starts to bubble.
3. Take the saucepan off the heat.
4. Stir in vanilla, chocolate, and butter until well mixed.
5. Transfer to a bowl and tightly cover with plastic wrap.
6. Refrigerate overnight 

Hot Cocoa Mug Cake

A quick and easy microwave recipe that you’ll be coming back to every day! Top your chocolate mug cake with ice cream for another layer of decadence!

Ingredients:

• ¼ cup Ghirardelli Premium Double Chocolate Hot Cocoa
• ¼ cup All-purpose flour
• ¼ cup Milk
• 2  tbsp melted butter

Directions:

1. Stir in all ingredients into a microwave-safe mug.
2. Microwave for 1 minute. Stick a toothpick or fork into the cake to see if it comes out clean.  (actual time depends on your microwave). 
3. Allow to cool then top with ice cream!

Frozen Hot Cocoa 

This super simple drink only has 3 ingredients and is more like a slushie with a creamy yummy chocolate flavor. 

Ingredients:

• 2 cups Ice 
• Ghirardelli Premium Double Chocolate Hot Cocoa
• 1 cup Milk

Directions:

1. Put ice cubes first into a blender and pulse to crush.
2. Add desired amount of Ghirardelli Premium Double Chocolate Hot Cocoa (more powder to make it more chocolatey!) and the milk then blend
3. Pour into a glass and top with whipped cream and chocolate shavings
