Autumn-Inspired Drink Recipes

By: Sabrina Huda Sanchez

As we watch the leaves turn and the weather change, we also welcome a shift in flavors. Synonymous with the Autumn season is Pumpkin Spice as well as cinnamon, chai, caramel, and other tastes that evoke warmth and happiness. The true start to this season is when food service establishments feature these flavors in their menu rather than a date on a calendar.

We’ve collected some of the quintessential drink recipes that you can cozy up with all season long!

You no longer have to get your pumpkin and allspice craving in a pie form! The Starbucks Pumpkin Spice put this flavoring on the map. Now there are pumpkin spice lattes, cookies, ice cream, cereals… basically everything in the snack and dessert aisles at the grocery store!

Sea Salt Cream Coffee
If you have never had this drink before then your first thought may be, “Sea salt with coffee?!” Then the people who have had a version of this at either 85 Degrees Bakery or Starbucks will respond, “Yes, and it’s the best way to enjoy coffee.”

You start with your cold brew base (although you can also make it with hot coffee) and top the cream mixture. Next, snap a pic for Instagram then stir the layers to create an extra creamy sweet and salty concoction. Actually, you can top green teas, matcha teas or any teas with the cream foam!
Here’s the full sea salt cream coffee recipe:

Spiced Chai Tea
There is something about the combined aromas of a spiced chai tea that is so soothing. The chai tea flavors have been captured in concentrates, powders and syrups if you do not want to brew it from scratch. Here you can find a wide array of chai tea products including some unique takes on a traditional chai.

Most agree that the best chai teas are black tea based. Tea Zone has a Vintage Blend which actually contains hints of cassia tora seeds and vanilla which pair great with milk, the other key ingredient in a classic chai. That’s the blend of loose leaves that this recipe uses. Taste the delicious difference is this spiced chai tea recipe:
